Guckaisee
The redevelopment of the Guckaisee natural bathing and paddling lakes and their surrounding area was completed right on time for the 2007 bathing season. The attractive new design has made the lakes an even more popular excursion destination among visitors to the Rhön and now offers a wider range of leisure activities.
The lower lake is a perfect place to bathe and relax. The long, wide bathing platform and the floating raft at the centre of the lake provide distinctive opportunities for sunbathing. Or else you can make the most of the circular trail around the lake for a relaxing walk. Those who wish to take some exercise can hire one of the new paddle boats on the upper lake or try out Nordic water walking for fun.

The children’s playground and the newly created water play area provide loads of fun for young guests.
And the restaurant Café Guckai-Stuben – Wirtshaus am See has now been fully refurbished with an inviting sun terrace - all in all a superb spot for guests to enjoy a meal or a drink in this lovely lakeside setting.
The Rhön premium hiking trail Der Hochrhöner runs across the Wasserkuppe uplands. The special Guckaisee tour takes the hiker past the Guckaisee lakes, offering an opportunity to linger and enjoy the wonderful setting, take some refreshment or have a dip in the fresh, natural water on a warm summer day.
